Responsibilities
- Own the end-to-end performance of one or more products, including Private Cloud Compute running Apple Intelligence in the cloud.
- Collaborate with architecture, platform design, SOC architects, software teams, and SRE to define performance targets and evaluate product performance.
- Develop automation and infrastructure tools for performance assessment.
- Analyze performance across the SOC, platform, software stack, and communication with the external world.
- Troubleshoot, debug, and reproduce performance issues while independently owning a complete functional area.
Requirements
- At least 5 years of experience as a Performance Engineer.
- In-depth professional experience with cloud operations.
- Experience with monitoring and observability tools such as Splunk, Grafana, and Prometheus.
- Understanding of network technologies, protocols, and procedures for iOS and macOS.
- Scripting and programming skills in C, C++, Python, SQL, and Shell.
- Strong troubleshooting, debugging, problem-solving, communication, and interpersonal skills.
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field.
- Preferred: experience with traditional ML systems and GenAI LLMs.
- Preferred: experience with Hadoop, Spark, or Snowflake.
- Preferred: understanding of hardware components and hardware/software interaction.
