Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and maintain embedded C++ software for real-time, mission-critical systems.
- Develop and integrate low-level software components and system interfaces.
- Contribute to safety-regulated, high-integrity software development practices.
- Support unit, integration, and system-level testing for deterministic and reliable behaviour.
- Contribute to verification, validation, and requirements traceability activities.
- Collaborate with systems, electronics, and test engineers to integrate software into complex platforms.
- Produce clear, traceable technical documentation for regulated engineering environments.
Requirements
- At least 8 years of experience in embedded software engineering.
- Strong experience with embedded C++, including C++11, C++14, C++17, or later.
- Experience delivering software in defence, safety-critical, or regulated environments.
- Understanding of real-time software constraints and deterministic behaviour.
- Experience with verification, validation, and requirements traceability.
- Familiarity with configuration management and development lifecycle tooling.
- Strong debugging and problem-solving ability in complex systems.
- Bachelor’s or master’s degree in software engineering, computer science, or a related discipline, or equivalent hands-on experience from a technical military background.
- Eligibility and willingness to obtain UK SC security clearance.
- Desirable experience with DO-178 or equivalent safety-critical standards, Ada, MISRA C/C++, automated testing, static analysis, or CI/CD pipelines.
