Responsibilities
- Direct autonomous coding agents on production workstreams by decomposing problems, dispatching tasks, and integrating the resulting software.
- Review agent-generated pull requests for correctness, security, accessibility, and other defects that automated tests may miss.
- Author and own evaluation suites that provide measurable quality standards for team deliverables.
- Own end-to-end software quality, including correctness, performance, security posture, and WCAG accessibility.
- Advance workstreams between supervised and autonomous execution based on reliability data and revert autonomy when quality declines.
- Identify and remediate patterns, prompts, or pipeline components that degrade at scale with the lead architect.
- Maintain branch-only execution, vaulted credentials, sandboxed actions, and in-VPC inference within the security boundary.
- Mentor engineers transitioning to agent-directed delivery and contribute to AI-native lifecycle standards.
Requirements
- Strong engineering fundamentals in data structures, systems design, testing, and reading unfamiliar code accurately.
- Record of shipping production software while owning quality, diagnosis, and remediation when failures occur.
- Hands-on experience directing coding agents on production work and critically reviewing their failure modes and generated code.
- Demonstrated code-review competence, including identifying defects beyond automated test coverage and providing actionable feedback.
- High autonomy, proactive escalation, and ability to advance work without step-by-step direction.
- Preferred: experience in FedRAMP, defense, financial services, healthcare, or other NIST 800-53, SOC 2, or HIPAA-bound environments.
- Preferred: depth in evaluation authoring or test-first development within a rigorous engineering culture.
- Preferred: full-stack range for reviewing front-end and back-end output and public-sector or GovTech experience.
