Responsibilities
- Develop and integrate platform software across Linux, Android, Zephyr, FreeRTOS, firmware, middleware, and subsystem interfaces.
- Support platform bring-up, feature enablement, validation, characterization, and software readiness for new silicon programs.
- Investigate complex hardware, firmware, kernel, middleware, and application issues through reproduction, tracing, profiling, root-cause analysis, and resolution.
- Optimize system behavior across power, performance, memory, thermal, reliability, and user experience dimensions.
- Diagnose issues involving CPU, DSP, GPU, memory, storage, clocks, regulators, thermal management, and connectivity subsystems.
- Drive technical execution, feature delivery, defect closure, milestone support, risk identification, and issue tracking.
- Participate in architecture reviews, design discussions, technical problem solving, and cross-functional engineering collaboration.
- Support customer debugging sessions, technical reviews, escalations, and communication of technical status and mitigation plans.
- Mentor junior engineers and contribute to automation, observability, and engineering productivity initiatives.
Requirements
- Bachelor's or master's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Engineering, Information Systems, or a related field, or a PhD in a related discipline.
- At least 2 years of software engineering or related work experience with a bachelor's degree, at least 1 year with a master's degree, or a PhD in a related field.
- At least 2 years of academic or work experience with programming languages such as C, C++, Java, or Python.
- Experience with embedded systems, BSP, RTOS, Linux, Android, Zephyr, FreeRTOS, firmware, kernel, or platform software development.
- Strong C/C++ programming skills and experience with system-level debugging, performance analysis, and software integration.
- Understanding of modern SoC architectures and subsystem interactions.
- Preferred experience with DSP, GPU, modem, connectivity, PMIC, power management, and AI accelerator subsystems.
- Preferred experience with platform bring-up, subsystem integration, performance tuning, crash analysis, reliability engineering, profiling, tracing, observability, and debugging tools.
- Familiarity with AI-assisted engineering tools such as Claude Code, Claude CLI, GitHub Copilot, and MCP agents.
