Responsibilities
- Develop and maintain React and TypeScript interfaces for complex operational data.
- Build and extend Node.js backend services integrating with AI inference pipelines and simulation systems.
- Own well-scoped features from requirements refinement through shipping and operational support.
- Plan and execute development sprints and provide estimates for assigned work.
- Collaborate with UX designers to create clear interfaces for complex datasets.
- Maintain quality through automated and manual testing, QA collaboration, and code review.
- Develop skills across the stack through pairing and mentorship with senior engineers.
Requirements
- Degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
- Professional experience building web applications with React and TypeScript.
- Working proficiency with Node.js and experience contributing to backend services.
- Strong communication skills and the ability to explain work to engineers and stakeholders.
- Ability to obtain and maintain UK Security Vetted status at least to SC level.
- Preferred experience with Vite, API design, data modelling, backend integration patterns, event-driven architectures, message queues, real-time data systems, MUI, Tailwind, Zustand, Immer, AI services, or simulation platforms.
- Interest or familiarity with defence, military modelling and simulation, or command-and-control systems is advantageous.
- Evidence of advocating for best practices or improving a team is advantageous.
