Base Salary

$93k - $170k/yr

Responsibilities

  • Lead software engineering projects and contribute to planning, scoping, estimation, architecture, and execution.
  • Develop and maintain scalable, performant, reliable software using languages such as TypeScript, Java, C#, and Python.
  • Collaborate with product managers, designers, and engineers to improve applications and make technical tradeoffs.
  • Use AI-assisted development, analysis, testing, and automation tools to improve productivity and software quality.
  • Conduct code reviews, identify and resolve bugs, and optimize existing systems.
  • Contribute across design, development, testing, deployment, and other software development lifecycle phases.
  • Evaluate and govern AI solutions with consideration for security, performance, and maintainability.
  • Mentor and guide junior engineers and help lead complex coding projects independently.

Requirements

  • At least 8 years of relevant and related work experience.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or equivalent education or experience; additional experience may substitute for an advanced degree.
  • Proficiency in one or more programming languages, such as TypeScript, Java, C#, or Python.
  • Experience leading complex coding projects with minimal or no oversight.
  • Experience using AI-assisted development tools for coding, testing, debugging, or documentation.
  • Knowledge of software design principles, patterns, algorithms, and data structures.
  • SQL and database experience.
  • Familiarity with OWASP threats and mitigation techniques.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, written communication, and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to manage a heavy workload, handle interruptions, adapt to change, and work with minimal oversight.
  • Passion for mentoring and guiding junior engineers.
  • Familiarity with Kanban methodologies and relevant tools is preferred.
  • Understanding of the education technology industry is preferred.
