Base Salary
$164k - $229k/yr
Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and maintain backend services handling notifications and emails with strong performance, security, and scalability.
- Design, develop, and maintain high-quality, performant frontend features.
- Contribute across the full development cycle, including technical design, development, testing, experimentation, analysis, and launch.
- Write design documents and production code and incorporate feedback.
- Collaborate with product managers, designers, data scientists, and other engineers.
- Contribute to supporting infrastructure.
Requirements
- At least 3 years of software engineering experience.
- Full-stack web development experience with balanced experience in modern frontend technologies and backend service code.
- Experience building user-facing features from design through completion.
- Language-agnostic engineering background; Reddit primarily uses TypeScript on the frontend and GraphQL, Go, and Python on the backend.
- Familiarity with unit testing and other automated testing.
- Ability to develop resilient and fault-tolerant software.
- Operational experience supporting live websites.
- Strong collaboration, communication, and cross-functional teamwork skills.
- Experience in areas such as written or verbal communication, project leadership, engineering culture improvements, or collaboration outside engineering is beneficial.
