Base Salary

$168k - $227k/yr

Responsibilities

  • Design, develop, and maintain AI-based recommendation system services for personalized Prime Video experiences.
  • Build distributed systems supporting high-volume, low-latency customer experiences.
  • Develop tooling and automation that improve recommendation-system efficiency, visibility, and reliability.
  • Lead technical strategy, architecture, design discussions, and implementation across team boundaries.
  • Collaborate with applied scientists, product managers, external partners, and software teams to improve discovery and personalization.
  • Mentor junior engineers and train teammates on software design, testing, operations, and system context.
  • Troubleshoot production issues and implement monitoring, alerting, and operational excellence practices.

Requirements

  • 5+ years of non-internship professional software development experience.
  • 5+ years of programming experience with at least one software programming language.
  • 5+ years of experience leading the design or architecture of new and existing systems, including design patterns, reliability, and scaling.
  • Experience as a mentor, tech lead, or engineering team lead.
  • Preferred: 5+ years of full software development life cycle experience, including coding standards, code reviews, source control management, build processes, testing, and operations.
  • Preferred: bachelor's degree in computer science or equivalent.
