Base Salary

$175k - $215k/yr

Responsibilities

Design, implement, and maintain backend services and data pipelines that ingest, transform, enrich, and index large-scale company and person data.
Own system components end to end from requirements and design through implementation, testing, deployment, and production support.
Write efficient, testable code meeting performance, scalability, reliability, and quality standards.
Contribute to architecture and technical design discussions, evaluate tradeoffs, and advocate for sound engineering decisions.
Conduct code reviews and provide meaningful technical feedback to peers.
Support production systems through deployments, troubleshooting, and incident response.
Apply AI tooling to improve development, testing, and delivery efficiency and experiment with LLM-powered capabilities where relevant.
Collaborate with engineers, product managers, and data science partners in an Agile environment.
Support company initiatives and role-model desired behaviors and values.

Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or Information Systems.
At least 5 years of software engineering experience, predominantly in backend systems.
At least 5 years of Java development experience, including production microservices.
At least 4 years of experience with Spring Boot or Spring Framework.
Strong experience with Kafka or comparable streaming and messaging platforms.
Experience with PostgreSQL or other relational databases at meaningful data volumes.
Hands-on experience with Elasticsearch or comparable search and indexing platforms.
Experience with large-scale data ingestion, transformation, or enrichment pipelines; entity resolution, deduplication, or data quality experience is a plus.
Experience with Docker and Kubernetes in production environments.
Experience with AWS and/or GCP.
Proficiency in RESTful API design and unit and integration testing.
Understanding of distributed-systems concepts including fault tolerance, eventual consistency, backpressure, and at-least-once delivery.
Familiarity with domain-driven design and service-oriented architecture patterns.
Ability to evaluate and pragmatically apply AI and LLM tools.
Strong written and verbal communication skills.
Must be authorized to work in the United States without current or future visa sponsorship.
Must be able to work onsite in Seattle.
