Responsibilities

  • Design, develop, maintain, test, and evaluate secure software and cloud infrastructure.
  • Deliver production software in modern object-oriented languages and microservice or service-oriented architectures.
  • Design and consume HTTP/REST APIs or equivalent gRPC/GraphQL interfaces, including compatibility and authorization patterns.
  • Design, optimize, and migrate relational database schemas and support asynchronous, message-driven processing.
  • Build and operate containerized services in public cloud environments.
  • Implement automated unit, integration, and end-to-end testing through delivery pipelines.
  • Use Git-based workflows, code review, observability, and production support practices to maintain reliable services.
  • Take ambiguous problems through design, implementation, and release; decompose work for others and raise engineering standards.
  • Collaborate with engineers and non-technical stakeholders in an Agile or iterative delivery model.
  • Mentor engineers or interns and participate in hiring and interview loops when applicable.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in a related discipline and 4 years of related experience, or a master’s degree and 2 years, a Ph.D. and 1 year, or 12 years of related experience without a degree.
  • Professional experience designing, building, and maintaining production software in a modern object-oriented language such as C#, Java, Kotlin, Go, TypeScript, Python, or C++.
  • Strong object-oriented design knowledge, including encapsulation, composition, interface design, SOLID, dependency injection, and design patterns.
  • Experience with microservices or service-oriented architectures, distributed failure modes, APIs, relational databases, asynchronous processing, public cloud, and containerized workloads.
  • Experience with automated testing, CI/CD pipelines, Git workflows, code review, production support, observability, and live-incident triage.
  • Demonstrated senior-level ownership of ambiguous technical work and experience decomposing work for others.
  • Clear written and verbal communication with technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • Preferred qualifications include C#/.NET, ASP.NET Core, Entity Framework Core, React, TypeScript, PostgreSQL, MySQL, Redis, AWS, Terraform, AWS CDK, CloudFormation, and Docker.
  • Preferred experience includes distributed-system patterns, scalability and performance work, feature flags, progressive delivery, static analysis, security scanning, legacy modernization, vendor API integration, multi-tenant SaaS, domain-relevant industries, resiliency practices, mentoring, hiring, and AI-assisted development tools.
