Responsibilities
- Build and implement backend platform solutions for collections and loan repayment recovery strategies
- Break larger projects into tasks, deliver work in phases, and collaborate to ensure timely delivery
- Partner with product management, design, analytics, risk, and engineering teams on product ideation and technical trade-offs
- Create and monitor metrics, escalate issues, and support system operations and availability
- Participate in on-call rotations and keep-the-lights-on efforts
- Support team growth and development, including participation in the interview process
Requirements
- At least 2.5 years of software engineering experience
- Experience designing, developing, and launching backend systems
- Proficiency in Python or Kotlin
- Familiarity with distributed systems, AWS, MySQL, and Kubernetes
- Ability to design solutions spanning multiple software components and write clear, tested, extensible code
- Ability to navigate large codebases, debug code, and provide code review feedback
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Willingness to participate in a required on-call rotation
