Responsibilities
- Design and deliver complex web UI features using React and TypeScript within shared design-system and platform standards.
- Define frontend architecture patterns for state management, API integration, error handling, routing, and applicable micro-frontend designs.
- Lead UI quality and operational readiness through automated testing, performance optimization, accessibility compliance, and production telemetry.
- Improve CI/CD maturity through linting, unit, component, and end-to-end testing, quality gates, build optimization, and release automation.
- Mentor engineers through technical design, code reviews, pairing, and adoption of frontend standards and best practices.
- Drive responsible adoption of approved AI-assisted engineering tools for development, code review, testing, troubleshooting, and documentation.
- Establish validation standards for AI-generated output, including secure coding, peer review, automated testing, correctness, performance, and security checks.
- Identify opportunities to automate recurring remediation work and improve application stability.
- Lead evaluation sessions with vendors, startups, and internal teams concerning architecture, technical capabilities, and system applicability.
Requirements
- Formal training or certification in software engineering concepts and at least 5 years of applied experience.
- Strong hands-on experience building enterprise web applications with React and TypeScript, including advanced component architecture.
- Experience leading UI technical design and mentoring engineers through reviews, pairing, and engineering standards.
- Strong experience with UI testing using tools such as Jest, React Testing Library, Cypress, and Playwright.
- Experience implementing and improving CI/CD for frontend applications with automated quality gates.
- Disciplined experience using AI coding assistants such as Claude AI or equivalent with verification and secure usage practices.
- Experience leading approved AI-assisted software development practices and setting expectations for validating AI outputs.
- Understanding of responsible AI use, data sensitivity, secure input and output handling, resiliency, and security expectations.
- Proficiency across the Software Development Life Cycle and advanced understanding of application resiliency and security.
- In-depth knowledge of financial services industry IT systems and practical cloud-native experience.
