Base Salary
$140k - $155k/yr
Responsibilities
- Build and improve backend services and APIs for basketball scorekeeping, statistics, and postgame experiences.
- Extend existing endpoints and systems to support product capabilities such as postgame editing.
- Develop web features for basketball box scores and statistics.
- Own technical design, architectural decisions, and delivery from requirements through release.
- Partner with mobile engineers to deliver backend capabilities for iOS and Android experiences.
- Collaborate with product, design, and engineering teams across Hoops, Stats & Insights, and Gameday.
- Write well-tested, maintainable code and improve system reliability, scalability, and performance.
- Share technical knowledge through code reviews and mentorship and contribute engineering patterns and tools.
Requirements
- Experience delivering backend services and APIs in production with strong software engineering fundamentals.
- Experience building applications with TypeScript and Node.js and developing web features with React.
- Strong backend development experience, including extending existing systems and writing scalable, performant code.
- Ability to independently design technical solutions and lead projects through implementation and release.
- Experience collaborating across product, design, and engineering teams, mentoring peers, and contributing to technical decisions.
- Interest in sports products; familiarity with basketball, scorekeeping, or sports statistics is a plus.
