Base Salary
$150k - $262k/yr
Responsibilities
- Design, build, deploy, and operate cloud-native platform components and services from design through production.
- Lead well-scoped projects by translating requirements and ideas into technical designs and delivered implementations.
- Build operators, controllers, automation, and platform services that other teams depend on.
- Improve reliability, scalability, and operability through testing, instrumentation, runbooks, and on-call participation.
- Collaborate with senior, staff, and principal engineers on platform architecture and standards.
- Mentor junior engineers through code reviews, design feedback, pairing, and onboarding.
Requirements
- At least 8 years of software development experience with a bachelor's degree, 5 years with a master's degree, 3 years with a PhD, or equivalent work experience.
- At least 5 years of hands-on experience building, deploying, and operating workloads on Kubernetes.
- Experience with at least one major hyperscaler, including core compute, networking, and IAM primitives.
- Strong programming skills in Go or another systems language with willingness to work primarily in Go.
- Track record of delivering complex features or services as a key contributor.
- Working knowledge of containers, CI/CD, GitOps-based delivery, and infrastructure-as-code.
- Experience considering or integrating AI into engineering work is required.
- Preferred experience includes Kubernetes controllers, the operator pattern, container networking, service mesh, workload identity, mTLS, secrets management, observability, managed Kubernetes, and Terraform.
- Must pass ServiceNow's USFedPASS background screening, including credit, criminal or misdemeanor, and drug checks.
- Only US citizens, US naturalized citizens, or US permanent residents holding a green card will be considered.
