Responsibilities
- Design, build, and operate AWS infrastructure automation using Terraform Enterprise, Ansible, Harness, Kubernetes, and GitOps practices.
- Support and evolve continuous delivery pipelines across PRE, SBX, and PRD environments.
- Build self-service provisioning capabilities for compute, storage, databases, and messaging through Kubernetes-native APIs and GitOps workflows.
- Develop platform abstractions, golden paths, reusable modules, and infrastructure automation for engineering teams.
- Improve Kubernetes reliability, scalability, security, networking, multi-tenancy, and cluster lifecycle management.
- Implement observability and AIOps capabilities including intelligent alerting, anomaly detection, incident triage, and automated remediation.
- Create and maintain production runbooks and provide L2 support for automation systems and platform infrastructure.
- Participate in on-call rotations, incident response, post-mortems, migrations, and disaster recovery testing.
- Automate and operate compute, storage, networking, identity, Active Directory, and DNS infrastructure.
- Support Kubernetes persistent volumes, storage classes, CSI drivers, high availability, fault tolerance, and RPO/RTO objectives.
- Identify AWS cost optimization opportunities and contribute to FinOps efforts.
- Document architecture decisions and operational procedures while promoting platform engineering and automation practices.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
- At least 5 years of hands-on DevOps experience building and operating a SaaS platform on AWS.
- At least 3 years of platform engineering experience contributing to automation and self-service ecosystems.
- At least 3 years of Infrastructure as Code experience with Terraform in AWS environments.
- Strong Kubernetes expertise covering workloads, networking, security, cluster lifecycle, operators, and CRDs.
- Experience with CI/CD practices and GitOps workflows using ArgoCD, Kargo, and GitHub Actions.
- Experience with monitoring and observability tools such as Datadog or Splunk.
- Exposure to AIOps practices including intelligent alerting, anomaly detection, and AI-assisted automation.
- Experience integrating infrastructure resources with Kubernetes workloads, including PVs, PVCs, StorageClasses, and CSI drivers.
- Experience providing L2 support for automation systems and platform infrastructure.
- Strong scripting or development skills in Python, Bash, or Go.
- Experience building Kubernetes operators or controllers with controller-runtime or kubebuilder is preferred.
- Experience with claim-based or self-service infrastructure provisioning patterns is preferred.
- Familiarity with Cilium or equivalent eBPF-based Kubernetes networking and security is preferred.
- Knowledge of AWS disaster recovery design and testing, FinOps, Vault, AWS storage, NetApp ONTAP, AWS Backup, or Cohesity is preferred.
