Responsibilities
- Lead full-lifecycle development of complex features using object-oriented programming and design patterns.
- Architect system specifications, application hierarchies, integrations, and data models.
- Integrate internal applications with Epic and Cerner EMR platforms using HL7 and FHIR.
- Analyze distributed production systems, identify performance bottlenecks, and improve scalability and reliability.
- Establish engineering standards, conduct peer code reviews, mentor junior developers, and lead technical decisions.
- Implement encryption, identity management, and ACL controls while supporting HIPAA and PHI protection.
- Conduct security audits and maintain regulatory compliance across environments.
- Gather requirements, conduct feasibility studies, and translate healthcare challenges into technical roadmaps.
- Lead Agile ceremonies, improve CI/CD pipelines, maintain documentation, and govern the SDLC.
- Oversee unit, integration, and UAT testing and set the production release quality bar.
- Partner with clinical leadership, external vendors, and non-technical stakeholders.
Requirements
- At least 5 years of professional software development experience focused on full-stack, mobile, or data-centric environments.
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field; alternatively, a high school diploma plus 10 years of experience.
- Proficiency in at least two programming languages from C#, SQL, Java, Swift, Kotlin, or equivalent.
- Experience architecting systems and leading technical decisions rather than only executing assigned tickets.
- Hands-on expertise with ACLs, encryption, identity management, and HIPAA compliance.
- Strongly preferred experience integrating Epic or Cerner EMR systems using HL7 or FHIR.
- Ability to communicate and collaborate with clinical leadership, vendors, and non-technical stakeholders.
- Preferred ServiceNow Certified System Administrator certification.
- Preferred ServiceNow Certified Application Developer certification.
