Responsibilities
- Design and maintain Java microservices using Quarkus or Spring Boot with versioned REST and GraphQL APIs.
- Build responsive Next.js and React portal features using TypeScript and Apollo.
- Develop and support Databricks data workflows using Unity Catalog, Delta tables, and the medallion pattern.
- Evolve PostgreSQL or Oracle schemas and manage versioned Liquibase changesets.
- Write clean, documented, testable code and conduct code reviews.
- Create unit, integration, and end-to-end tests using TestNG, Selenium, and BrowserStack.
- Diagnose issues across services, portals, and data pipelines using Datadog and App Insights.
- Operate within GitHub-based CI/CD pipelines for automated builds, testing, security scanning, and environment promotion.
- Translate business and regulatory requirements into technical designs and deliverable software.
- Lead scalable and reusable software design across the UI, services, data pipelines, and database layers.
- Coach and mentor software developers and collaborate with architects, data scientists, stakeholders, and business analysts.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or a related field, or equivalent professional experience.
- 7+ years building and shipping production software, including recent depth in Java/JVM with Quarkus or Spring Boot.
- Demonstrated full-stack capability across Next.js, React, TypeScript, Java services, and data layers.
- Experience owning end-to-end feature design from user interface through service and database structure.
- Experience designing and operating RESTful and GraphQL APIs with contract versioning and security best practices.
- Experience with PostgreSQL or Oracle, Hibernate/JPA, Quarkus Panache, and Liquibase.
- Working knowledge of Databricks, Delta, Unity Catalog, data models, lineage, and access control.
- Experience deploying and operating services on Azure using Docker, Kubernetes/AKS, and container registries.
- Fluency with Git and GitHub-based CI/CD, including automated build, test, security scanning, and promotion pipelines.
- Working knowledge of Terraform, metadata standards, data movement, and ETL/ELT practices.
- Understanding of the software development life cycle and experience in Agile/Scrum environments.
- Ability to lead development initiatives, drive design decisions, manage priorities, solve problems, and communicate technical requirements effectively.
- Preferred experience with Apache Spark, DBX job orchestration, change-data-capture tools such as HVR, GHAS, Wiz, Dependabot, feature flags, trunk-based delivery, Copilot, Cursor, AGENTS.md, Datadog, and Azure Application Insights.
- Experience in regulated or compliance-driven domains is preferred.
