Responsibilities
- Lead customer-facing data platform migrations and modernization projects onto cloud platforms and Snowflake.
- Design and implement lakehouse architectures using Snowflake and Apache Iceberg.
- Architect and build batch and streaming data ingestion, processing, and transformation pipelines.
- Design and implement pipelines using Apache NiFi and write Python and shell scripts for ETL workflows.
- Lead customer workshops, design sessions, technical decision-making, troubleshooting, and resolution of implementation challenges.
- Create repeatable processes, documentation, best practices, and knowledge-transfer programs for customers.
- Optimize Snowflake solutions for performance and cost.
- Define testing strategies and plans for modernization implementations.
- Provide customer requirements and product feedback for Snowconvert, Snowpark, big data frameworks, and Snowflake lakehouse capabilities.
- Develop or contribute to frameworks involving distributed computing, Apache Spark, PySpark, Python, HBase, Kafka, REST-based APIs, and machine learning.
- Coach customers on effective use of Snowflake AI tools.
- Travel onsite to customers as needed.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in a technical discipline or equivalent practical experience.
- At least 7 years of experience in a customer-facing technical role delivering complex implementation projects and multi-party, multi-year digital transformation engagements.
- Experience with data warehousing, business intelligence, application modernization, lakehouse implementations, or cloud projects.
- Experience building real-time and batch data pipelines with Apache Spark and Apache NiFi.
- Experience implementing Apache Iceberg or other open table format lakehouse solutions, including Delta or Hudi.
- Experience with streaming data technologies and patterns.
- Experience with the Cloudera platform and migrations from Cloudera.
- Familiarity with AI/ML, transformation technologies, and standard MLOps practices.
- Familiarity with prompt engineering techniques.
- Ability to learn new technologies, build repeatable solutions, anticipate project roadblocks, and develop mitigation plans.
- Strong communication and translation skills across design, engineering, client executive, and technical leadership groups.
- Strong presentation skills for technical and executive audiences.
- Ability and flexibility to travel to customer sites as needed.
