Responsibilities
- Support users and production environments across multiple global locations.
- Troubleshoot escalated Unix/Linux operating system incidents, performance bottlenecks, and service failures.
- Write and modify Shell, Python, or Perl scripts for maintenance automation and system health checks.
- Provision virtual servers, manage user access, configure file systems, and perform operating system patching and upgrades.
- Analyze system and application logs, identify root causes, and develop permanent fixes.
- Monitor CPU, memory, and disk resources while maintaining server hardening and security compliance.
- Build and manage cloud CI/CD pipelines and apply DevSecOps best practices.
- Create standard operating procedures and knowledge base articles for L1/L2 support teams.
- Collaborate with L3 IT teams and R&D software development teams to improve production stability and developer productivity.
- Support documentation, change management, incident management, problem resolution, and high availability activities.
Requirements
- At least 3 years of experience architecting, managing, and improving DevOps environments running Windows and Linux.
- At least 5 years of experience working in global teams across multiple geographies on support, strategy, projects, and operations.
- Strong Linux administration and problem-solving skills.
- Proven operational experience with DevSecOps best practices.
- Experience building and managing CI/CD pipelines in the cloud.
- Experience working directly with R&D software development teams to optimize their working environments.
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
- Typically 5–10 years of hands-on experience in Unix/Linux environments.
- Experience with advanced Unix commands, LVM, NFS, Autofs, DNS, FTP, VNC, Remote NX, and server hardening.
- Basic or proficient Shell scripting with Bash, Python, or Perl.
- HPC experience using LSF or Slurm is preferred.
- RHCE certification is preferred.
- Strong process orientation in documentation, change management, incident management, and problem resolution.
- Strong analytical thinking, excellent English communication, and willingness to participate in on-call and shift rotations.
