Base Salary
$131k - $218k/yr
Responsibilities
- Own and evolve the technical direction of the Order Management domain.
- Design and implement resilient distributed systems with clear failure modes.
- Establish architectural patterns for partner integrations.
- Lead domain-wide initiatives from problem framing to production rollout.
- Drive high-severity incident response and systemic remediation.
- Define and uphold domain standards for testing and operational excellence.
- Produce clear technical designs and decision records.
- Partner with leadership on roadmap planning and investment tradeoffs.
- Mentor and coach senior and mid-level engineers.
Requirements
- 8+ years of experience building and operating large-scale backend or distributed systems.
- Strong software engineering experience in modern programming languages.
- Experience in e-commerce, order management, or high-throughput transactional domains is preferred.
- Production experience in cloud-hosted systems like GCP, AWS, or Azure.
- Hands-on experience with relational databases such as PostgreSQL.
- Proven ability to design and operate business-critical, stateful systems.
- Experience working with third-party systems and designing for partial failure.
- Track record of leading architectural initiatives across multiple teams.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to hold strong technical opinions while remaining open to new ideas.
