Base Salary

$131k - $218k/yr

Responsibilities

  • Own and evolve the technical direction of the Order Management domain.
  • Design and implement resilient distributed systems with clear failure modes.
  • Establish architectural patterns for partner integrations.
  • Lead domain-wide initiatives from problem framing to production rollout.
  • Drive high-severity incident response and systemic remediation.
  • Define and uphold domain standards for testing and operational excellence.
  • Produce clear technical designs and decision records.
  • Partner with leadership on roadmap planning and investment tradeoffs.
  • Mentor and coach senior and mid-level engineers.

Requirements

  • 8+ years of experience building and operating large-scale backend or distributed systems.
  • Strong software engineering experience in modern programming languages.
  • Experience in e-commerce, order management, or high-throughput transactional domains is preferred.
  • Production experience in cloud-hosted systems like GCP, AWS, or Azure.
  • Hands-on experience with relational databases such as PostgreSQL.
  • Proven ability to design and operate business-critical, stateful systems.
  • Experience working with third-party systems and designing for partial failure.
  • Track record of leading architectural initiatives across multiple teams.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to hold strong technical opinions while remaining open to new ideas.
