Responsibilities
- Develop new features and sustain existing products while handling engineering escalations.
- Participate in all phases of the product development cycle, from product definition and design through implementation, debugging, testing, delivery, and early customer support.
- Design, code, debug, and perform development activities according to designated standards and procedures.
- Drive simpler, more robust, and more efficient architectures and designs.
- Deliver self-healing and reliable services requiring minimal manual intervention.
- Provide early visibility into technical challenges and help mitigate them.
- Support products from conception through delivery, including problem solving, defect maintenance, and customer-service support.
Requirements
- 5–8 years of hands-on C++ product development experience.
- Expertise in object-oriented programming, data structures, and the Standard Template Library (STL).
- Knowledge of design patterns and a strong background in data structures and algorithms.
- Experience developing multi-threaded applications.
- Experience with REST, JSON, and web services.
- Experience developing software in Linux/Unix environments; Unix knowledge is desirable.
- Understanding of database concepts and product architecture.
- Experience with Git and Jenkins.
- Scrum or Kanban experience.
- Sound software engineering practices and a demonstrated commitment to quality.
- A proven record of meeting tight deadlines without sacrificing quality.
- Strong written and oral communication skills for varied internal and external audiences.
- Understanding of customer deployment scenarios and experience working with peer teams outside engineering.
- Independence, drive, motivation, flexibility, and a cooperative working style.
