Responsibilities
- Provide technical thought leadership for complex business integrations and secure, high-performance services.
- Lead architecture, design, implementation, maintenance, support, and technical debt management for complex systems and projects.
- Develop Java/Linux web applications, web services, platforms, automation, container solutions, cloud solutions, and serverless applications.
- Elicit requirements and ensure system designs align with functional and non-functional requirements through documentation and diagrams.
- Plan and deliver complex, long-term projects involving multiple teams and external dependencies.
- Develop prototypes and proofs of concept to support adoption of new technologies.
- Establish coding standards, code review guidelines, and quality practices across engineering teams.
- Communicate architecture and design concepts to engineers, executives, and business representatives.
- Mentor and train developers and coach teams adopting new platforms.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree required.
- At least 6 years of experience as an architect, technical lead, consultant, or software engineer with a focus on hands-on implementation.
- At least 5 years of experience with Java SE, Java EE, and the Spring Framework, including Spring Boot and Spring MVC.
- At least 3 years of experience developing web services with the Spring Framework.
- At least 6 years of experience using version control systems such as Git.
- At least 3 years of experience with build tools such as Maven or Gradle.
- At least 3 years of experience with unit testing frameworks such as JUnit or Mockito.
- At least 6 years of experience with SQL development and database management.
- At least 3 years of experience using Azure or AWS services for solution design and implementation.
- Preferred: at least 2 years of healthcare-domain experience, including FHIR, HL7, and Azure Healthcare Services.
- Preferred: at least 2 years of experience building public health or healthcare data pipelines using HL7, FHIR, vocabulary, and HHS data standards.
- Preferred: at least 2 years of experience with relational and NoSQL databases, such as Databricks, for large-scale enterprise solutions.
- Preferred: at least 2 years of experience developing container-based and serverless applications.
- Preferred: at least 2 years of experience with messaging services such as SQS, Kafka, IBM MQ, or Kinesis.
- Demonstrated ability to learn new technologies, troubleshoot problems, follow through, analyze issues, communicate effectively, and collaborate within Agile teams.
