Base Salary
$190k - $322k/yr
Responsibilities
- Build scalable distributed systems and event-driven streaming pipelines for robot, manufacturing, and clinical data.
- Provide self-service APIs and applications for users to access and interact with data.
- Evolve data models in collaboration with core engineering teams.
- Apply software development practices including automated testing, infrastructure as code, and microservice architectures.
- Participate in planning, code reviews, KPI reviews, and design discussions.
- Lead data-domain technical direction, mentor teammates, and improve how data is produced, shared, and consumed.
Requirements
- Fluency in at least two of Python, Go, Scala, Java, and C++.
- Experience building data pipelines and distributed systems using technologies such as Apache Spark, Kafka, Elasticsearch, Snowflake, and Airflow.
- Deep knowledge of event-driven pipelines, message queues, container orchestration, stream processing, relational databases, data warehouses, analytics engineering, workflow orchestration, and search engines.
- Strong understanding of CI/CD workflows, unit testing, integration testing, and deployment patterns.
- Experience with AWS and/or GCP, SQL, and relational databases.
- A bachelor’s or master’s degree in computer science, information technology, or a related field, or a solid quantitative background with 8–10+ years of technically demanding experience.
- Preferred qualifications include platform-team experience, GitLab CI/CD or other CI tooling, Terraform, Ansible, Packer, infrastructure-as-code practices, CNCF projects, and a Ph.D. in a related field.
