Responsibilities
- Configure, operate, and automate cloud IaaS infrastructure and configuration management.
- Implement software solutions that configure infrastructure as code.
- Develop, test, debug, and improve software applications and automation for troubleshooting.
- Diagnose and resolve complex infrastructure issues across multiple interdependent systems within established SLAs.
- Automate routine systems administration responsibilities and improve established policies and procedures.
- Analyze requirements and assist with system architecture design.
- Mentor junior engineers and serve as an escalation point for Individual Contributor I and II engineers.
- Research emerging technologies, recommend solutions, and share knowledge with stakeholders and the engineering community.
- Partner across teams to understand dependencies, solve problems, and improve organizational efficiency.
- Create clear technical communication materials tailored to different audiences.
Requirements
- At least 5 years of experience with a bachelor's degree or 3 years with a master's degree.
- Experience maintaining and enhancing a project or product in a production environment using public or hybrid cloud infrastructure.
- Experience implementing software solutions for infrastructure configuration using code.
- Bachelor's or master's degree, or equivalent experience; a technical degree is preferred.
- Broad infrastructure knowledge with expertise in at least one infrastructure area.
- Proficiency in configuring, operating, and automating cloud IaaS infrastructure using platforms such as AWS, Azure, or GCP.
- Thorough knowledge of infrastructure automation and configuration management.
- Strength in more than one programming language or technology implementation.
- Familiarity with two data stores or API access patterns and integration.
- Knowledge of operating systems, system and code testing tools, applications, databases, and technology platforms.
- Ability to design moderately complex systems, troubleshoot complex issues, analyze requirements, and identify project-level business problems.
- Ability to collaborate with stakeholders, communicate clearly, and explain technical concepts to varied audiences.
