Responsibilities

  • Design the long-term technical roadmap for transitioning legacy systems to microservices, event-driven, and cloud-native architectures.
  • Lead technical archaeology of the legacy codebase and transform undocumented business logic into clean, testable code.
  • Design architecture for integrating AI and LLM capabilities, including agentic workflows and RAG pipelines.
  • Govern architectural patterns, technology stacks, and coding standards across the engineering team.
  • Identify, quantify, and prioritize technical debt while balancing feature delivery with long-term system health.
  • Mentor senior and mid-level developers, conduct deep-dive code reviews, and promote technical excellence.
  • Use the Strangler Fig approach to wrap, refactor, and replace legacy components while maintaining business continuity.

Requirements

  • 10+ years of software engineering experience.
  • At least 3+ years of experience in a Lead Architect or Principal Engineer capacity.
  • Expert knowledge of C#, .NET, .NET Core, ASP.NET, and modern .NET versions including .NET 6 and .NET 8.
  • Deep understanding of legacy .NET Framework internals.
  • Demonstrated success migrating or modernizing large-scale, complex legacy systems.
  • Proficiency with AI-assisted engineering tools and LLMs for code analysis, refactoring, and architectural prototyping.
  • Ability to defend architectural decisions with stakeholders while earning the respect of highly senior engineers.
