Responsibilities

  • Oversee development and maintenance of bp’s CLAWS regulatory reporting system.
  • Design backend components, services, platforms, RESTful APIs, databases, and integrations.
  • Support frontend component design and integration with backend systems.
  • Review services and components and identify opportunities for improvement.
  • Influence and deliver the product roadmap and long-term technology strategy.
  • Mentor colleagues and help the team grow.
  • Own team culture, working practices, code quality, testing, documentation, and traceability.
  • Collaborate with business users, partners, and the Tech Product Manager to gather requirements and evolve the technology platform.

Requirements

  • Extensive IT industry experience designing, planning, implementing, maintaining, and documenting solutions.
  • Experience working with small teams.
  • Proficiency in software engineering development techniques and practices including TDD and BDD.
  • Strong software engineering design capabilities and understanding of computational complexity.
  • Hands-on experience with C#/.NET Core or the React ecosystem, TypeScript, and JavaScript.
  • Database design knowledge and experience with SQL Server.
  • Experience with AWS services including ECS with Fargate, SQS/SNS, Lambda Functions, CDK Stack, and CloudWatch.
  • Ability to work closely with business stakeholders, elicit requirements, and create mathematical models.
  • Strong communication, presentation, mathematical, and numeracy skills.
