Responsibilities
- Lead technical discovery for strategic opportunities and translate business goals into technical success criteria and evaluation plans.
- Design, scope, and execute enterprise proofs of concept with defined datasets, metrics, and timelines.
- Build lightweight prototypes, sample integrations, and demonstrations using Deepgram SDKs and APIs.
- Advise customers on architecture for accuracy, latency, scalability, cost, cloud, self-hosted, hybrid, and data residency requirements.
- Address APAC security and compliance topics, including regional privacy requirements.
- Triage and debug evaluation issues and coordinate with Product, Engineering, and Support to resolve them.
- Create reusable samples, reference architectures, runbooks, field guides, and other scalable technical assets.
- Partner with Account Executives, Customer Success Managers, Solutions Architects, Support, and partners on positioning, demonstrations, and technical validation.
- Support customer continuity through production launches, escalations, expansions, and post-sales activities when needed.
- Enable the regional field team and act as the primary pre-sales technical owner for strategic opportunities.
- Lead customer architecture workshops and convert recurring support or evaluation patterns into reusable accelerators.
Requirements
- At least 5 years of experience in Solutions Engineering or a similar customer-facing technical pre-sales role.
- Professional software engineering experience in at least one language such as JavaScript, TypeScript, Python, or Rust, with the ability to build production-used POCs and tools.
- Hands-on experience with modern cloud platforms, Docker, Kubernetes, networking fundamentals, and secure API design.
- Proven experience leading enterprise customer POCs and achieving technical wins.
- Clear written and verbal communication with technical and executive audiences.
- Experience with speech recognition, text-to-speech, voice quality analysis, or AI agents orchestrating LLMs is preferred.
- Familiarity with telephony and real-time media concepts including SIP, WebRTC, streaming, and WebSocket integrations is preferred.
- Experience with self-hosted and hybrid deployments, Helm-based installations, and production observability is preferred.
- Strong understanding of authentication, authorization, and APAC enterprise data residency reviews is preferred.
- Fluency in an additional Asian language such as Japanese, Korean, Mandarin, or Hindi is preferred.
- Ability to travel within the APAC region for key customer milestones.
- Excellent written and spoken English and familiarity with APAC procurement, InfoSec, and data privacy expectations.
