Base Salary
$141k - $229k/yr
Responsibilities
- Participate across the software development lifecycle, taking features from concept through production release.
- Build backend and occasional full-stack plumbing connecting services, APIs, and product experiences.
- Translate business requirements into clean technical designs and extensible APIs with Product, Engineering, and partner teams.
- Troubleshoot data, integration, and service issues across a large distributed codebase.
- Improve technical documentation, system design, observability, maintainability, and engineering best practices.
- Use AI tooling, preferably Claude, to support software design, architecture, and implementation while maintaining engineering judgment and code quality.
Requirements
- 5+ years of software engineering experience building backend or data-intensive production systems.
- 4+ years of experience or strong proficiency with Java and Spring Boot.
- Strong database and data-modeling fundamentals across relational databases such as PostgreSQL and NoSQL databases such as DynamoDB.
- Experience building cloud applications with AWS and serverless infrastructure such as AWS Lambda.
- Experience with containerization and orchestration infrastructure such as Docker, Kubernetes, and ECS.
- Experience turning complex business requirements into clean and extensible APIs.
- Strong technical, analytical, troubleshooting, documentation, visualization, and communication skills.
- Familiarity with security, documentation, monitoring, and Agile/Scrum practices.
- Comfort using AI tooling, preferably Claude, in daily solution design, architecture, and implementation work.
- Preferred experience with white-label or multi-tenant architectures, Apache Kafka, Python, pytest or unittest, Node.js, TypeScript, Twitch, and full-stack development.
