Responsibilities
- Build and maintain scalable backend microservices using Java and Spring Boot.
- Design and implement RESTful APIs for customer portals and internal tools.
- Own features through design, testing, deployment, monitoring, and production operation.
- Design scalable, fault-tolerant distributed systems and define technical strategy for complex microservices architectures.
- Work with event-driven services, streaming platforms, relational databases, and efficient data handling.
- Participate in code reviews, team ceremonies, and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Collaborate with frontend engineers and Product Managers to deliver partner-facing products.
- Mentor Software Engineers, lead technical discussions, and share knowledge.
Requirements
- Professional Java development experience and a strong understanding of Spring Boot.
- Experience building asynchronous, event-driven microservices with platforms such as Nakadi or Apache Kafka.
- Practical experience with relational databases, specifically PostgreSQL, including schema design and query writing.
- Familiarity with REST APIs, microservice architectures, and data handling with tools such as Jackson.
- A proven record of delivering stable features and owning work from discovery through delivery.
- Comfort with Gradle, automated testing, and CI/CD workflows.
- Interest in or experience with AWS and Kubernetes and willingness to operate production services.
- Strong English communication skills and the ability to collaborate in a diverse international team.
- Experience or interest in modern AI engineering tools such as Codex CLI, Claude Code, and MCPs.
- A customer-centric approach and a habit of identifying continuous improvement opportunities.
- Knowledge of Kotlin is a plus.
