Responsibilities
- Design and build AI platform features including agent tool systems, prompt pipelines, integration APIs, and edge-deployed services.
- Develop agentic AI capabilities such as tool calling, context management, multi-step workflows, prompt engineering, evaluation frameworks, and confidence-based routing.
- Build scope-aware tools that expose orders, inventory, and knowledge-base capabilities safely to AI agents.
- Design fault-tolerant integrations with downstream Elixir/Phoenix services and ensure graceful degradation.
- Own features end-to-end through technical design, implementation, testing, deployment, and production monitoring.
- Contribute to agent orchestration, skill registries, human-in-the-loop patterns, and the broader Stord Agent Platform.
- Participate in architecture decisions, design documentation, code reviews, technical discussions, and cross-functional product development.
- Mentor junior and mid-level engineers and help other product engineering teams adopt AI capabilities.
- Instrument and improve production systems with monitoring, observability, reliability, and operational best practices.
Requirements
- At least 2 years of production experience with TypeScript and the ability to own significant portions of a TypeScript codebase.
- Production experience building and shipping LLM-powered or agentic features, including prompt engineering, tool or function calling, and context management.
- Experience building stateful or highly available distributed services; Cloudflare Workers, Durable Objects, or similar edge-runtime experience is a strong plus.
- Experience designing and consuming APIs, OpenAPI specifications, and event-driven architectures.
- Strong SQL fundamentals and experience with D1, SQLite, PostgreSQL, or similar persistence technologies; Drizzle ORM experience is a plus.
- Hands-on experience with Cloudflare, GCP, or AWS and an understanding of serverless and edge deployment models.
- Experience with production observability tools such as OpenTelemetry or Datadog.
- Experience with Elixir/Phoenix, Cloudflare developer-platform services, Anthropic Claude, the AI SDK, Model Context Protocol, WebSocket-based systems, scope-based authorization, or multi-tenant systems is preferred.
- Knowledge of logistics, e-commerce, or supply-chain domains and contributions to open-source TypeScript or AI projects are preferred.
- Strong ownership, communication, collaboration, production judgment, learning agility, and ability to use AI coding tools while maintaining independent technical judgment.
