Responsibilities
- Lead the full lifecycle of software engineering projects, including planning, execution, monitoring, risk management, issue resolution, and delivery.
- Guide the Software Engineering team and partner departments in identifying product and technical requirements.
- Direct implementation initiatives for new software products and applications.
- Organize software updates and coordinate application release rollouts.
- Manage deliverables, deadlines, specifications, budgets, performance metrics, and reporting.
- Lead engineers through project lifecycles and provide guidance for technical escalations.
- Promote software engineering best practices, quality processes, formal development processes, and continuous improvement.
- Perform peer code reviews and foster development of high-quality products.
- Deploy, troubleshoot, and scale applications across Linux/Unix and cloud environments.
- Monitor competitive applications and products and ensure software delivery meets customer and business requirements.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Science, IT, Computing, or equivalent.
- 8+ years of experience in software engineering and delivery roles.
- 4 years of experience leading engineers through project lifecycles resulting in successful deliverables.
- Hands-on experience with Angular, Core Java, multithreaded programming, Spring, Spring Boot microservices, Spring MVC, and Hibernate.
- Strong knowledge of design patterns and reusable component development.
- Hands-on experience with SQL queries and query tuning, NoSQL databases, Kafka or another message broker, Docker, Kubernetes, cloud environments, and Linux/Unix.
- Exposure to Spark-based Big Data analytics applications and an ETL environment.
- Knowledge of JUnit or another Java unit testing framework; TDD experience is preferred.
- Thorough understanding of software development or support methodologies, principles, procedures, and related software management tools.
- Telecom product development experience with TMF standards is preferred.
- Experience building scalable SaaS platforms is an advantage.
- Significant proficiency or in-depth knowledge in the relevant technology or product domain.
