Base Salary
$197k - $225k/yr
Responsibilities
- Lead a portfolio of diverse technology projects and a team of developers building full-stack and distributed microservices solutions for regulatory and risk-management needs.
- Build and deploy proprietary AI-powered risk-management solutions in partnership with the GRC team and cross-company partners.
- Deliver robust cloud-based solutions and collaborate with digital product managers, architects, and Agile teams.
- Define service boundaries, integration patterns, reusable frameworks, coding standards, design patterns, and operational-excellence practices.
- Identify opportunities for refactoring, technical-debt reduction, and performance optimization in distributed systems.
- Evaluate emerging technologies and influence long-term technology strategy in a you-build-it-you-own-it environment.
- Mentor engineers and contribute to internal and external technology communities.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree or higher in Computer Science or a related quantitative field is required.
- At least 4 years of software engineering experience is required; internship experience does not apply.
- At least 2 years of experience with public cloud platforms, cloud-based productivity tools, or virtualization technologies is required.
- Preferred qualifications include a master’s degree, 7+ years coding in more than two listed programming languages, and 3+ years with databases, cloud technologies, front-end frameworks, APIs, CI/CD, infrastructure as code, automated testing, Git-based version control, or cloud troubleshooting.
- Preferred qualifications include experience with open-source frameworks, AI-based coding tools and IDE copilots, interactive AI tooling, observability, mentoring engineers, cross-functional engineering leadership, and establishing coding standards and design patterns.

- Full-time annual salary varies by location, with listed ranges of $179,400–$204,700 in Richmond and $197,300–$225,100 in Cambridge and McLean.
