Responsibilities
- Design, develop, test, debug, and maintain scalable software components.
- Design and implement REST APIs and backend services.
- Develop plugin architecture for integrating AI assistants and services.
- Build maintainable code using unit testing and test-driven development practices.
- Participate in code reviews and technical design discussions while mentoring team members.
- Collaborate with engineering, DevOps, support, and cross-functional teams.
- Translate business requirements into scalable technical solutions and provide effort estimates.
- Evaluate tools, technologies, and engineering processes to improve quality, performance, and developer productivity.
- Troubleshoot and resolve complex application and code-level issues.
- Design for scalability, security, reliability, and availability.
Requirements
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science or equivalent practical experience.
- At least 4 years of experience building scalable, customer-facing web applications and distributed systems.
- At least 2 years of experience developing applications with Python and Java-based web frameworks.
- At least 2 years of experience with automated testing frameworks such as Selenium, Jasmine, or Cucumber.
- Experience deploying applications on AWS or other cloud platforms.
- Experience with backend data stores such as DynamoDB or Aurora.
- Experience designing and developing RESTful APIs and working with JSON and XML.
- Preferred experience designing highly scalable and highly available distributed systems.
- Preferred proficiency in Java, Python, or Go.
- Preferred understanding of full-stack development methodologies and modern software architecture.
- Experience with AI-powered applications, LLM integrations, or agent-based systems is preferred.
Benefits
- Canada-based roles offer a starting base salary range of $107,000 to $157,300, with potential annual cash bonuses, stock grants, and comprehensive benefits.
