Base Salary
$135k - $170k/yr
Responsibilities
- Develop and support scalable Java-based systems powering the Vivid Seats Marketplace and third-party marketplaces.
- Design and deliver high-performance listings, conversational search, authentication enhancements, pricing features, and seat map automation capabilities.
- Build, test, and maintain REST-based web services and front-end components.
- Lead and mentor small groups of engineers while guiding coding standards, design patterns, architecture, and technology improvements.
- Deploy services to AWS production environments and address complex e-commerce marketplace scalability challenges.
- Collaborate with product, quality, data, platform, engineering, and business teams in Agile development environments.
- Own team applications, systems, and services while supporting code quality, testing, reliability, and continuous improvement.
Requirements
- Experience developing web-based, distributed, and multi-tier architectures using Java or other major platforms such as Python and React.
- Strong knowledge of Spring, REST, service-oriented architecture, OAuth, and RESTful API design.
- Experience with JavaScript, React, single-page application frameworks, and API interactions.
- Experience with cloud-based architectures, preferably AWS.
- Experience with distributed messaging systems such as Apache Kafka, AWS SNS, and Amazon SQS.
- Hands-on experience with Docker, Kubernetes, and AWS EKS.
- Proficiency with Jenkins, GitHub Actions, or comparable CI/CD tools.
- Proficiency in SQL and relational database modeling with Amazon RDS Aurora MySQL, plus some knowledge of MongoDB.
- Ability to translate complex technical concepts into architectural designs and serve as a subject matter expert across architecture, implementation, deployment, and support.
- Strong communication and collaboration skills in cross-functional Agile teams.
- Willingness to experiment with and integrate AI tools to improve efficiency and outcomes.
