Responsibilities
- Design, develop, debug, test, and maintain software for customer and internal team needs.
- Work with software requirements from customers, application engineers, hardware engineers, and firmware engineers.
- Contribute to existing and new projects using Java, Kotlin, Python, and TypeScript/React.
- Collaborate with applications and systems engineers to troubleshoot system failures and propose software remedies.
- Participate in code reviews for fellow team members.
- Investigate and apply new technologies to improve the developer experience.
Requirements
- 5+ years of software development experience with breadth and depth.
- Technical expertise in Java; Kotlin knowledge is strongly preferred.
- JavaFX or GUI development experience, including exposure to JavaScript or TypeScript, is strongly preferred.
- Strong understanding of software architecture and design principles, behavior-driven development, and unit testing.
- Ability to develop creative software solutions and perform technical troubleshooting beyond routine approaches.
- Highly developed written and verbal cross-functional communication skills.
- Experience with JIRA, Confluence, and GitLab is preferred.
- Basic electronics, microcontroller programming, and bus communications experience are strongly preferred.
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or Electrical Engineering.
