Base Salary

Responsibilities
- Develop Python-based hardware abstraction layers that separate test sequence logic from instrument drivers.
- Create modular, reusable test software using design patterns such as Factory, Strategy, and Wrapper.
- Build and optimize data pipelines that stream local test data into centralized manufacturing databases and execution systems.
- Implement retry logic, exception handling, and local buffering to maintain station availability during network or server disruptions.
- Analyze execution logs to diagnose software bugs, instrument communication failures, and product defects.
- Automate multi-instrument test sequences using concurrent or multithreaded Python concepts.
- Write unit tests and use software mocking frameworks to validate test code before production deployment.
- Maintain code quality through readable, type-hinted code, peer reviews, and Git-based development workflows.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Software Engineering, or a related technical discipline.
- At least 3 years of experience writing production-grade software, ideally in Python, involving hardware or data streams.
- Strong Python knowledge including decorators, higher-order functions, custom exceptions, and context managers.
- Experience communicating with hardware instruments using SCPI, PyVISA, Serial, TCP/IP sockets, or Modbus.
- Comfort working in Linux/Unix environments, using Git, and operating Docker containers.
- Practical experience writing and optimizing SQL queries for high-frequency logging.
- Preferred: familiarity with Test-Driven Development or hardware simulations and digital twins.
- Preferred: basic knowledge of optical components, cameras, laser safety, or OpenCV.
- Preferred: experience supporting manufacturing lines or hardware prototyping in electronics, automotive, or robotics.
