Responsibilities
- Own end-to-end software architecture for humanoid robot applications.
- Define reusable software platforms spanning robotics, AI, voice, cloud, and edge systems.
- Select robotics frameworks, operating systems, SDKs, AI infrastructure, and deployment architectures.
- Design modular architectures and platform strategies reusable across different physical robot forms.
- Integrate foundation models, agentic orchestration, memory systems, multimodal AI, and reasoning engines into robot applications.
- Co-design hardware and software to address latency, compute, thermal, battery, power, and safety constraints.
- Guide proof-of-concepts through production-ready customer deployments.
- Ensure deployed systems meet reliability, observability, maintainability, security, and operational requirements.
- Collaborate with robotics OEMs, technology partners, mechanical and electrical teams, and cross-functional engineering groups.
- Lead, mentor, and unblock a small startup development team.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Robotics, Software Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related discipline.
- 8+ years of experience in robotics, autonomous systems, industrial automation, physical AI, or complex cyber-physical environments.
- 3+ years managing engineering teams in startup, R&D, robotics, or fast-paced product development environments.
- Deep knowledge of navigation and localization, including SLAM and Nav2; manipulation and motion planning, including MoveIt2; perception pipelines; sensor fusion; robot middleware; DDS communication; and distributed robotics architectures.
- Experience designing cyber-physical systems under compute, thermal, battery, network intermittency, and fail-safe operational constraints.
- Advanced C++ 17/20 and Python architectural design expertise.
- Strong mastery of Linux, including Ubuntu and Debian, containerized deployments, and embedded computing platforms.
- Preferred experience with PREEMPT_RT, deterministic kernel environments, Zephyr RTOS, FreeRTOS, NVIDIA Isaac SDK, Isaac Sim, Omniverse, Gazebo, Webots, and Intel RealSense.
- Preferred familiarity with ISO 13849, IEC 61508, IEC 62443, human-robot interaction safety requirements, LLMs, VLMs, agentic workflows, multimodal reasoning, and edge AI inference platforms.

- Annual base salary range of $192,500.00 - $290,00.00 USD, with offers determined by experience and other job-related factors.
