Responsibilities
- Prepare technical design specifications and knowledge-transfer materials based on functional requirements.
- Review requirements, analysis, and design documents and provide technical feedback.
- Implement, test, maintain, and support software based on technical designs.
- Design and implement robust, scalable web services and improve existing codebases.
- Participate in architecture reviews, code reviews, debugging, and peer review of code changes.
- Identify quality issues and patterns, develop standard operating procedures, and recommend system improvements.
- Collaborate with colleagues, product stakeholders, and cross-functional teams to implement technical designs.
- Lead or contribute to cloud, DevOps, or AI modernization initiatives.
- Assist customer support with technical issues and questions.
- Lead project work and mentor less experienced developers.
Requirements
- At least 12 years of professional experience is required, including extensive Java full-stack development experience.
- At least 9 years of experience developing systems or software for large business environments and at least 10 years of Java Enterprise Edition experience.
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science, information systems, or a related field, or an equivalent combination of education and experience; a master’s degree is a plus.
- Strong object-oriented design and service-oriented architecture experience, preferably using Java.
- Strong experience leading the architecture, design, and implementation of robust, highly scalable web services.
- Experience with AWS and/or Azure SaaS infrastructure, DevOps technologies, and extensive debugging.
- Experience with unit, functional, performance, and test-driven development practices.
- Experience developing and debugging distributed systems and working with cloud-based big data systems; at least 5 years is stated for this area.
- Experience with databases and data architecture, including SQL and NoSQL systems.
- Experience with React, Pulsar, and Snowflake is preferred.
- Knowledge of software security-enhancing tools and practices and at least one shell scripting language.
- Understanding of big data, machine learning, LLMs, automation, and engineering toolchains.
- Ability to lead technical direction, operate across business and technical abstraction levels, make trade-offs, and work across cross-functional teams.
- Strong communication, interpersonal, organizational, presentation, facilitation, customer-focus, and decision-making skills.
