Responsibilities
- Design, build, test, and release scalable and resilient distributed data systems.
- Develop components and features that integrate open-source software with Apple’s internal ecosystem.
- Build cloud-based applications involving compute services, databases, APIs, RESTful services, ETL, queues, and notification services.
- Develop optimized SQL, procedures, and semantic processes for distributed data applications.
- Work with internal customers to understand requirements and workflows and propose platform improvements.
- Support data exploration, analytics, reporting, production models, data insights, metrics, KPIs, anomaly detection, forecasting, and generative AI use cases.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or equivalent experience.
- Programming experience with at least one of Python, Scala, or Java.
- Knowledge of BI concepts and implementation experience with cloud databases such as Snowflake or BigQuery.
- Experience developing highly optimized SQL, procedures, and semantic processes for distributed data applications.
- Seven or more years of experience building enterprise-level data applications on distributed systems.
- Experience designing and developing cloud-based applications with compute services, database services, APIs, RESTful services, ETL, queues, and notification services.
- Experience with cloud platforms such as AWS, Microsoft Azure, or Google Cloud.
- Preferred experience with Snowflake, Java, Spark, Kafka, data visualization tools, and basic ML models.
