Base Salary

$178k - $257k/yr

Responsibilities

  • Define and drive the technical strategy for the organization’s C++ testing ecosystem.
  • Design reusable testing frameworks, libraries, and developer tooling that reduce duplication and improve engineering quality.
  • Integrate quality gates into CI/CD pipelines to provide fast, actionable feedback and identify issues before production.
  • Build quality platforms and dashboards showing test coverage, flaky-test trends, pipeline health, and other engineering metrics.
  • Mentor engineers, influence technical decisions, promote engineering standards, and drive adoption across teams without formal authority.

Requirements

  • 10+ years of professional software engineering experience with expert-level C++ skills and experience using Python or similar languages for developer tooling, automation, and test infrastructure.
  • Demonstrated experience designing and maintaining reusable test frameworks or developer tools adopted by multiple engineering teams.
  • Expertise with C++ testing and mocking frameworks such as GoogleTest, Google Mock, Catch2, or comparable technologies.
  • Proficiency with build systems and dependency management tools such as Bazel, CMake, or similar technologies.
  • Experience incorporating automated testing and developer tooling into delivery workflows involving Kubernetes, containerized environments, and microservices-based architectures.
  • Familiarity with public cloud platforms including AWS, GCP, or Azure.
  • Experience using observability and diagnostic tools to debug and resolve sophisticated issues.
  • Deep understanding of software design for testability, including dependency injection, interface design, deterministic testing, isolation, and automation standards.
  • Track record of influencing engineering standards, driving technical adoption across teams, and communicating effectively with technical partners.
  • Preferred qualifications include experience with shared testing infrastructure, internal developer platforms, large-scale C++ framework modernization, multi-language platforms supporting C++, Python, Go, or Java, SDKs and libraries, distributed systems, networking, high-performance software, quality dashboards, contract testing, flaky-test management, or automated quality tooling.
