Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and maintain scalable Python test automation frameworks and infrastructure.
- Own end-to-end validation for SAN and block storage features, including test design, execution, and defect lifecycle management.
- Develop functional, integration, stress, scale, performance, and customer-scenario tests for distributed storage systems.
- Collaborate with development teams to define validation strategies, improve testability, and contribute to product design discussions.
- Analyze failures, debug issues across software and system layers, and drive root-cause resolution.
- Improve reliability, observability, diagnosability, automation, and test coverage across components.
- Lead or significantly contribute to test planning, quality reviews, release readiness, and team-level automation strategy.
- Work with development, QA, and field support teams to understand customer use cases and production-readiness needs.
- Mentor junior engineers and influence engineering best practices.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or a related field is required; a Master’s degree is preferred.
- 8–12 years of relevant industry experience and a track record of delivering quality outcomes for complex subsystems.
- Strong Python programming skills and experience building automation frameworks.
- Experience with system-level testing and debugging of distributed systems.
- Solid understanding of Linux/Unix systems, multithreading, and system internals.
- Experience with storage technologies, preferably SAN protocols including FC, iSCSI, and NVMe-oF.
- Understanding of file systems, data paths, replication, or high-availability systems.
- Experience with scale, performance, and stress-test automation.
- Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines, test infrastructure, and modern development workflows.
- Deep expertise in SAN/block storage domains such as ONTAP, SnapMirror, SVM, and HA/MetroCluster is preferred.
- Experience in large-scale system validation, customer-scenario testing, or cloud-integrated and hybrid-cloud storage architectures is preferred.
- Ability to work independently on moderately to highly complex problems and drive solutions.
