Base Salary

$122k - $189k/yr

Responsibilities

  • Design and develop innovative, clean, scalable, and reliable software solutions for Nordstrom’s inventory business.
  • Build and maintain Java and Spring Boot APIs, web applications, services, and integrations with internal systems and external vendor applications.
  • Analyze requirements, design solutions, code, test, install, enhance, and maintain complex software programs.
  • Contribute to continuous integration, continuous delivery, cloud migration, testing, peer code reviews, and Scrum development processes.
  • Drive build and release plans and deploy applications to production environments.
  • Transition between application development and production support, troubleshoot defects, and participate in rotating 24x7 support shifts.
  • Implement metrics, real-time alerting, reporting, and dashboards for system uptime and performance.
  • Collaborate with business, infrastructure, security, vendor, and cross-functional technology teams on enhancements and bug fixes.
  • Assist with high-level software strategy, architecture, design reviews, and enterprise application planning.
  • Maintain corporate policies, industry best practices, and high-quality software release standards.

Requirements

  • At least 2 years of professional experience in the practice area.
  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Data Science, or related experience.
  • Knowledge of Java and the Spring Boot framework, with familiarity with additional programming languages such as Python, JavaScript, or C# preferred.
  • Experience with backend relational or NoSQL databases, preferably Oracle.
  • Experience with RESTful architecture, microservices, JSON, and XML; experience with REST and SOAP services.
  • Required experience with Amazon Web Services and familiarity with at least one major cloud platform.
  • Familiarity with Kubernetes, Docker, CI/CD, testing tools, and modern development practices.
  • Familiarity with Kafka, SQS, and other messaging middleware.
  • Sound object-oriented design skills and knowledge of application design patterns.
  • Familiarity with AI-assisted development tooling and how agents can accelerate design, coding, and testing workflows.
  • Experience with Oracle Retail Merchandising Applications such as RMS, RIB, and SIM is preferred.
  • Strong analytical, troubleshooting, communication, collaboration, self-direction, and technical persuasion skills.
