Responsibilities
- Develop new features and improvements across the SingleStore database.
- Work on SQL query processing and query optimization.
- Improve storage engines, indexing, and data management.
- Build reliable distributed-system components involving concurrency, multithreading, and fault tolerance.
- Investigate performance, scalability, and correctness issues.
- Write production code, tests, documentation, and technical designs.
- Participate in technical discussions, code reviews, and regular release cycles.
- Collaborate with engineers, product managers, and cross-functional partners.
Requirements
- Currently pursuing a bachelor’s or master’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related field.
- Strong foundation in data structures, algorithms, operating systems, and computer architecture.
- Understanding of concurrency, multithreading, and server-based systems.
- Programming experience in C++ or C.
- Coursework or project experience in databases, distributed systems, operating systems, compilers, networking, or storage systems is preferred.
- Preferred qualifications include systems-software debugging or optimization, Linux or Unix-based systems, performance profiling, memory management, low-level programming, and contributions to production software or substantial technical projects.
- Prior professional experience is not required; coursework, research, projects, internships, or open-source contributions are accepted ways to develop relevant skills.
