Base Salary

$100k - $167k/yr

Responsibilities

  • Develop and maintain Java applications and Spring Boot microservices.
  • Build clean, testable, maintainable code and manage application dependencies with Maven or Gradle.
  • Create and maintain unit and integration tests.
  • Support application build, deployment, and release activities through CI/CD platforms.
  • Automate development, testing, deployment, and operational workflows.
  • Support application deployment and runtime operations on Azure, AWS, or GCP.
  • Troubleshoot issues across code, configuration, builds, deployments, and cloud environments.
  • Collaborate with senior engineers and platform teams to improve reliability, observability, and operational readiness.
  • Participate in Agile ceremonies, sprint planning, backlog refinement, and engineering discussions.
  • Create technical documentation, runbooks, troubleshooting guides, and knowledge-base updates.
  • Apply DevOps/SRE principles including automation, monitoring, incident awareness, and production support.
  • Use AI-assisted engineering tools for code analysis, test generation, documentation, troubleshooting, and workflow automation.

Requirements

  • Hands-on Java development experience and experience building applications or services with Spring Boot.
  • Experience with Maven or Gradle and strong software development fundamentals including debugging, source control, and code reviews.
  • Experience writing and maintaining unit and integration tests.
  • Knowledge of CI/CD concepts and experience with platforms such as GitLab CI/CD, GitHub Actions, Jenkins, or Azure DevOps.
  • Experience with at least one public cloud platform: Azure, AWS, or GCP.
  • Familiarity with microservices, REST APIs, application configuration, logging, service deployment, containerization, and cloud-native practices.
  • Ability to troubleshoot technical issues using logs, metrics, build output, test results, and application behavior.
  • Understanding of Agile software delivery practices and ability to collaborate with globally distributed teams.
  • Ability to work independently and take ownership of development, testing, and support tasks.
  • Preferred experience includes Kubernetes, Docker, Helm, observability tools, Python development, AI agent development, AI/ML model operations, secure software development, secrets management, vulnerability scanning, and cloud security controls.
  • Preferred understanding of agentic development practices including prompt design, tool calling, guardrails, observability, evaluation, testing, versioning, and responsible AI use.
