Responsibilities

  • Design, develop, test, troubleshoot, and maintain secure, high-quality production software solutions.
  • Build and operate batch and streaming ETL/ELT pipelines and data platform capabilities on AWS.
  • Review and debug code, improve operational stability, and automate recurring issue remediation.
  • Lead adoption of enterprise-authorized AI-assisted engineering practices, including code review, refactoring, test acceleration, and incident analysis.
  • Establish validation standards for AI-assisted outputs, secure coding, peer review, automated testing, and reusable engineering patterns.
  • Lead vendor, startup, and internal architecture evaluation sessions.
  • Lead software engineering communities of practice and promote new technologies.
  • Coach engineers on responsible, secure, and compliant use of AI-assisted development tools and Large Language Models.

Requirements

  • Formal training or certification in software engineering concepts and 5+ years of applied experience.
  • Proficiency in system design, testing, and operational ownership.
  • Advanced Python and cloud-native engineering experience with AWS, including IAM, VPC, KMS, and CloudWatch.
  • Production experience delivering batch or streaming ETL/ELT pipelines using AWS Glue, Amazon EMR, AWS Lambda, and Amazon MWAA/Airflow or AWS Step Functions.
  • Strong data engineering fundamentals, including CDC/incremental processing, backfills, idempotency, late-arriving data handling, and schema evolution.
  • Experience with AWS analytics and storage services, including Amazon S3, Amazon Redshift, Amazon Athena, AWS Lake Formation, and Glue Data Catalog.
  • Experience with streaming and messaging technologies such as Amazon Kinesis and Amazon MSK.
  • Experience implementing data quality controls, monitoring and alerting, pipeline automation, performance and cost optimization, and security/governance compliance.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead adoption of approved AI-assisted software development tools and validate their outputs for correctness, performance, and security.
  • Understanding of responsible AI practices, data sensitivity, secure input/output handling, resiliency, and security expectations.
  • Practical experience using Large Language Models to accelerate advanced coding workflows.
