Responsibilities
- Own and deliver key engineering objectives and quarterly initiatives.
- Lead technical implementation efforts and drive projects through ambiguity.
- Collaborate with Product Managers, Designers, Analysts, and other stakeholders throughout the product lifecycle.
- Identify and implement technical, operational, and process improvements.
- Ensure backend service reliability, scalability, and performance through monitoring, observability, and operational excellence.
- Contribute to architectural discussions and long-term technical strategy.
- Promote engineering best practices through code reviews, design reviews, and quality standards.
- Mentor and support other engineers through technical guidance and knowledge sharing.
- Deliver high-impact features and platform enhancements.
Requirements
- 5+ years of professional experience building backend systems with Kotlin.
- Strong experience designing, developing, and operating large-scale distributed systems.
- Hands-on experience with AWS, cloud-native architectures, and modern infrastructure practices.
- Experience with Kubernetes and containerized workloads.
- Experience with relational or NoSQL databases such as MySQL and DynamoDB.
- Strong understanding of software design, scalability, resiliency, and performance optimization.
- Experience delivering complex features from design through production deployment.
- Ability to make significant changes in large codebases while maintaining stability and quality.
- Experience working in distributed international teams with strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or equivalent practical experience.
- Experience with highly available mission-critical systems, microservices, event-driven architectures, CI/CD pipelines, DevOps practices, observability, monitoring, or incident management is preferred.
- Experience leading technical initiatives and influencing architecture decisions is preferred.
- Upper-Intermediate English proficiency or higher (B2+) is required.
