Responsibilities
- Build executive credibility with R&D leaders and lead strategic, first-of-a-kind engagements.
- Lead R&D opportunities from pre-sales through delivery, including qualification, technical scoping, readiness assessment, feasibility, business value, staffing, estimation, and delivery planning.
- Coordinate account, advisory, customer success, product engineering, and services teams throughout engagements.
- Translate scientific, engineering, and advanced-computing challenges into backlogs, user stories, research objectives, metrics, workflows, and target-state AI architectures.
- Lead the design and delivery of MVPs, proof-of-concepts, and production-ready solutions involving Discovery workflows, agents, integrations, simulations, and data pipelines.
- Own technical workstreams across qualification, discovery, design, implementation, build, and post-go-live optimization.
- Evaluate emerging AI capabilities and provide scientific and technical oversight to ensure credible, feasible solutions.
- Develop reusable architectures, delivery playbooks, technical assets, best practices, and product feedback to scale R&D motions.
Requirements
- Master’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related field and 4+ years of relevant experience, or bachelor’s degree in one of these fields and 6+ years of relevant experience, or equivalent experience.
- Preferred direct experience in pharma or life sciences R&D, such as drug discovery, genomics, bioinformatics, computational biology, or clinical development.
- Understanding of scientific methods, experimentation, data-driven decision-making, and R&D workflows.
- Experience applying AI, machine learning, generative AI, data science, simulation, or advanced analytics to scientific or business problems.
- Ability to work with technical experts and executive stakeholders, influence without authority, and drive cross-organizational outcomes.
- Understanding of data science and machine learning, including algorithms, exploratory data analysis, model development, and evaluation.
- Familiarity with Azure cloud services, Foundry, AI Search, agentic AI architectures, knowledge graphs, containers, and scientific high-performance computing.
- Experience with product management, agile delivery, backlog management, large matrixed organizations, and first-of-a-kind innovation initiatives.
- Experience using GitHub Copilot, Claude Code, Codex, or similar tools.
Benefits
- The role may be eligible for benefits and other compensation.
- The U.S. base pay range is $101,800–$193,800 per year, with a separate San Francisco Bay Area and New York City range of $126,100–$207,600 per year.
