Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and maintain backend services and APIs using Java, Spring, and Spring Boot.
- Implement payments, lending, core banking, and other BFSI/fintech workflows.
- Build and optimize database models and queries using PostgreSQL or MySQL and JPA/Hibernate.
- Contribute to multi-tenant, cloud-native SaaS architecture with a focus on security, performance, and reliability.
- Write unit and integration tests, participate in code reviews, and maintain coding standards.
- Profile and tune application performance, including memory management, garbage collection, connection pooling, and Redis caching.
- Integrate message queues, third-party fintech APIs, and internal microservices for event-driven workflows.
- Collaborate on requirements, technical estimates, release planning, and production deployments.
- Troubleshoot production issues and support logging, monitoring, error handling, and incident follow-up.
- Create and maintain technical documentation for services, APIs, and system integrations.
Requirements
- Approximately 1–3 years of hands-on production experience as a Java or JVM Backend Developer.
- Strong knowledge of core Java, including collections, generics, streams, concurrency, and object-oriented design.
- Practical experience with Spring or Spring Boot and building backend services and APIs.
- Experience with PostgreSQL or MySQL and ORM tools such as Hibernate or JPA.
- Familiarity with Maven or Gradle and Git-based workflows.
- Basic understanding of software development life cycle, Agile methodologies, and test-driven development principles.
- Ability to debug and troubleshoot backend issues and collaborate effectively across engineering, product, and business teams.
- Preferred experience in banking, BFSI, fintech, payments, lending, digital onboarding, or core banking integrations.
- Preferred exposure to B2B or enterprise SaaS, multi-tenant architectures, cloud deployments, and subscription-based products.
- Preferred understanding of financial-services security, compliance, data privacy, secure coding, authentication, authorization, and encryption.
