Responsibilities
- Design, implement, test, and deploy scalable Cloud LDAP services, including protocol proxies, synchronization workers, and supporting APIs.
- Implement LDAP operations and directory semantics including bind, search, compare, DNs, filters, attributes, schemas, and ACLs.
- Develop directory synchronization, replication, regional read replicas, failover, and high-availability capabilities.
- Build and operate LDAP edge and proxy services involving load balancing, connection limits, TLS/STARTTLS, eventing, observability, password handling, and edge protections.
- Use AI coding assistants to generate code, write tests, debug issues, and improve development velocity while maintaining code review and operational rigor.
- Deploy and operate containerized services with Docker and Kubernetes on AWS, including EC2, S3, Lambda, and DynamoDB.
- Create automated tests for new and legacy LDAP functionality and maintain quality gates through CI/CD.
- Collaborate with product and engineering teams across time zones and participate in production LDAP on-call rotations.
Requirements
- 3–5 years of professional software development experience focused on backend systems, networked services, and APIs.
- Proficiency in one or more of Go, C++, Node.js, and Python.
- Solid understanding of LDAP or a closely related directory protocol, including bind, search, DNs, filters, schemas, TLS/STARTTLS, and LDAP client consumption patterns.
- Practical experience with high-availability services, messaging or queues, replication, or proxy and load-balancer request paths.
- Experience deploying on AWS and working knowledge of Kubernetes and/or Infrastructure as Code such as Terraform.
- Demonstrated use of AI coding assistants to improve development speed, bug finding, and code quality.
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field.
- OpenLDAP overlays, provider/consumer replication, LDAP proxy or middleware experience, directory synchronization, service meshes, HAProxy, Consul-style service discovery, ldapsearch, packet captures, and server-log debugging are preferred.
