Base Salary
$120k - $206k/yr
Responsibilities
- Design and build scalable, secure APIs and microservices using ASP.NET Core and C#
- Build and maintain backend workers for ingesting, analyzing, redacting, and exporting documents using ML models
- Own backend domains, major features, database schemas, queries, and end-to-end production delivery
- Design and deploy AWS cloud infrastructure using infrastructure-as-code tools
- Support real-time collaboration features for concurrent multi-user workflows
- Identify and resolve performance bottlenecks and ensure production reliability, scalability, and security
- Collaborate with frontend engineers on API contracts, data flows, and end-to-end feature behavior
- Break down ambiguous problems, create executable designs, and make independent technical decisions
- Drive execution across engineers when needed and contribute to cross-functional system design
- Conduct code reviews, uphold engineering standards, mentor junior engineers, and participate in technical hiring
Requirements
- At least 6 years of experience owning and delivering complex backend systems or features end-to-end
- Strong proficiency in C# and ASP.NET Core for API and microservices development
- Experience with relational and/or NoSQL databases and performance optimization
- Hands-on experience with AWS services including EC2, S3, Lambda, RDS, and DynamoDB
- Experience building scalable, production-grade systems with reliability and performance considerations
- Understanding of asynchronous processing, concurrency, and distributed systems
- Experience handling sensitive or compliance-regulated data with security awareness
- Strong communication and collaboration skills
- Preferred experience with large-scale file or document-processing pipelines
- Preferred experience with event-driven architectures and message queues such as SQS, SNS, and EventBridge
- Familiarity with ML model integration or AI-powered backend systems
- Experience with real-time systems such as WebSockets or SignalR
- Knowledge of infrastructure-as-code tools such as AWS CDK, Terraform, or CloudFormation
- Experience with Docker and Kubernetes
- Relevant AWS certifications are preferred
